NIMCET is an acronym for "National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test". NIMCET is a a national level entrance test conducted once a year by any one of the participating NIT's for admission to the MCA programme of NIT(Agartala), MNNIT(Allahabad), MANIT(Bhopal), NIT(Calicut), NIT(Jamshedpur), NIT(Kurukshetra),NIT(Raipur),NITK(Surathkal),NIT(Trichy),NIT(Warangal) and some other Universities.
NIMCET Exam Pattern:-
NIMCET is an objective type of test containing 120 multiple-choice questions(MCQ's) written in English language only.The duration of the examination is 2 hours.The question paper has four sections-Mathematics(50 Questions),Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning(40 Questions),Computer Awareness(10 Questions),General English(20 Questions).Each correctly answered question carries 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.The marks obtained by a candidate in Mathematics,Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning,Computer Awareness,English are multiplied by a factor of 3,1.5,2 and 1 respectively.Thus,the total weightage of marks for NIMCET is 1000.The candidates declared qualified in NIMCET appear for counselling in three rounds.
